A big thank you to all of our dedicated Bailiffs for protecting the pond environment and also to our volunteer working party for your hard work ensuring our pond is safe and enjoyable for all.
In addition to our regular Bailiffs, we also have a Fishpond Working Party - Adam Spurrier, Giles Bennett, Daniel Boulter and Craig - clearing the pond of invasive weeds, ivy and keeping the pegs clear.  Please get in touch if you are interested in joining.

We are always seeking volunteers to support the initiative that provides training for young anglers in rod craft, how to handle fish etc. If you have the relevant experience and you are interested in this fun opportunity, contact John.Anderson.FISH.2013@gmail.com. You will have to be DBS checked.

Environment Agency Reports

The Parish Council can now publish the Environment Agency’s report on the fishpond environment, stock assessment, management plan and incident investigation. We are grateful for the Agency’s work and fully accept its recommendations.

Our Bailiffs and working party members have been diligent in implementing several aspects of the management plan, including the introduction of barley straw, regular water quality monitoring, supplementary aeration, and the management of excessive vegetation to help mitigate algae issues.

Tree works are also being planned ahead of the autumn leaf fall and will involve selective coppicing to provide long-term benefits for both fish and wildlife habitats.

While the stock assessment indicates fish numbers are moderately elevated, the report confirms that the fish population remains relatively balanced and is coping well within the pond environment.

We understand Severn Trent are also planning to monitor water quality on a long term basis.
