King Charles III Coronation

The Government has released more information about the Coronation weekend and suggested events for communities across the country are:
Saturday 6th May : Coronation Day, Westminster Abbey and evening Concert at Windsor
Sunday 7th May : Coronation Big Lunch
Monday 8th May : Bank Holiday – The Big Help Out - volunteering events in your community
The
Parish Council are looking at different ideas and options for commemorating the event in Barton whether it be a street party, village picnic and an autumn tree planting. If this is something you are interested getting involved with, we would welcome any ideas of what you would like to see and how you can help. Volunteers will be required to help organise any event so please do get in touch. Funding has been applied for.
UPDATE: Plans are now well underway for Sunday 7th May so put this date in your diary for entertainment happening around The Square and St James Churchyard. Volunteers still required to help with preparations and also to marshal the road closure on the day. See Invite below.
