Newbold Quarry - Proposed Extension
Published: 03 December 2021
Aggregate Industries UK Limited are hosting a virtual public consultation on proposals to extract sand and gravel from a 29-hectare extension area, due north of the existing quarry. These proposals will provide a further two and a half to three years of production, and would be worked after existing reserves have been exhausted, extending the quarry’s lifespan to 2028/29. The details of this consultation are shown below. Whilst this is in Tatenhill Parish, north of footpath that links Tatenhill to Tatenhill Lock on the Trent and Mersey Canal, walkers from Barton may be interested. People can ‘visit’ by clicking on
https://aggregate-newbold-quarry.virtualexhibition.info/splash.html. The website will go live on Monday 6 December at 5pm and run until Monday 20 December at 5pm. In addition, they are also hosting a webinar so people can view the proposals and ask questions. This will take place on Wednesday 8 December from 6pm-7pm. People can register for this by visiting the website and clicking on ‘Live Q&A Registration’ at the top of their screens.
